Scottish Golf welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures and communities and believe that those who wish to participate at any level or capacity within the sport of golf should be free to do so.
Our vision and strategic framework makes it clear that we aim to support everyone to enjoy the benefits of golf and to promote sports equality to the highest standard. When we say ‘everyone’ we mean all people without regard to their age, sex, race, faith, gender identity, disability, marital/civil partnership status or sexual orientation.
We are committed to ensuring that people can participate in all our activities to the full extent of their own ambitions and abilities, and we will always respect everyone’s rights and dignity.
We warmly welcome all – whether as staff, volunteers, members or supporters – to participate in our sport and we will actively seek to promote diversity at every level of the organisation.
Our commitments to the game are clear and we welcome the support of the golfing community to change the perceptions and to embrace every opportunity to make golf an inclusive and appealing choice for all.
In recognition of our commitment to Equality, an Equality Working Group has been established with an Action Plan devised to fully align with our 4-year strategic plan. We have established a dedicated resource to support our equality work and to drive our desire to influence into the wider golfing community and membership.
Scottish Golf has signed up to the LGBT Sports Charter and is currently working towards achieving the Intermediate Level of the Equality Standard for Sport.
