Following golf’s recent return in Scotland, officials from over 100 golf clubs across the country gathered online to share best practice as part of Scottish Golf’s latest Zoom Panel Call.
With many golf clubs reporting an increased demand for golf club membership following the return to golf, this week’s session focused on social media as a tool to support clubs in marketing membership with Davis Jones, the golf club membership marketer at Davis Jones Consulting and Kenny Morrison, Managing Secretary at Paisley Golf Club offering their expertise on this week’s topic.
Hosted by Scottish Golf’s Club Business Manager, Iain Evans, the call provided delegates with hints and tips on the process involved in using social media as a tool for marketing memberships.
As well as hearing from the panel of experts, Iain Evans touched upon two case studies from Cawder Golf Club and Tulliallan Golf Club, both of which have used social media as a membership marketing tool during the return to golf.

Scottish Golf Club Business Manager, Iain Evans said, “As the sport begins to emerge from recent lockdown restrictions here in Scotland, golf has been allowed to benefit from a return to play in Phase 1.
“Many of our affiliated clubs have reported an increased demand for golf club memberships and we felt it was important to provide all club officials with insights and ideas around how they can use social media to reach potential new members. We would like to thank Davis Jones and Kenny Morrison for supporting us with today’s call and I am sure it was of huge benefit to the club officials who were in attendance.”
