Attracting more visitors in an increasingly competitive marketplace is a challenging area of a club’s operation and one that Scottish Golf is regularly asked to provide support on. We delivered a recent series of workshops on this topic, in partnership with the respective Regional Visitor Marketing Groups who provide additional support to clubs on this important area.
The golf tourism industry is worth around £300m annually to the Scottish economy, but with approximately 12% of clubs generating 86% of the revenue, those clubs in the lower tiers of the pecking order for golf visitors have to work increasingly hard to raise their profile and attract non-member business.
