2019 BIGGA Scotland Awards recognise achievements of Scottish greenkeepers

Scottish Golf were pleased to attend the annual awards lunch on Wednesday at the Royal Hotel, Bridge of Allan, recognising the achievements of our Scottish Greenkeepers throughout the past year.

The Section Awards have been established to recognise the contribution, participation and ambition of members to improve their professionalism as a greenkeeper. The recipients this year were:

  • Central Scotland – Kevin Webster (Golf House Elie)
  • East of Scotland – Ross Prowse (Niddry Castle)
  • North of Scotland – David Rumbles (Elgin)
  • South West Scotland – Amanda Dorans (Dundonald Links)
  • West of Scotland – Andrew Wilson (Whitecraigs)

The Harry Diamond Award for top Student Greenkeeper was awarded to Kyle McClung (Gleneagles)

The Special Recognition Award for individual support and contribution to the association was awarded to trade industry partner Richard Aitken.

The Walter Woods Award, BIGGA Scotland’s most prestigious award to recognise the lifetime achievement as a greenkeeper and through their membership of association was awarded to Elliott Small.

  • Scottish Challenge Trophy – Patrick Wood (Leven Links)
  • Patrons Shield – Kevin Brunton (Greentech Sportsturf Ltd)
  • The Cecil George Trophy – Colin Finlay (Gala)
  • The Jimmy Neilson Trophy – Paul Murphy (Fife Golf Trust)
  • The Golf Management Trophy – St. Michaels Golf Club
  • The George Brown Trophy – Kyle McClung (Gleneagles)
  • The Elliott Small Trophy – Adam Henderson (West Kilbride)
